It's a sad world when I have to work a lot harder to watch the 70's cult classic British sci fi show Blake's Seven than I would to obtain crack cocaine. In the search for this series I've learned more than I ever wanted to about the intricacies of different TV platforms, and none of it ultimately helpful. Since BBC has started selling the series on a DVD box set, American convention-based bootlegging of the series has stopped out or respect for BBC's prerogative to market it (and threat of legal action if they continued to do so, I presume). My VCR and DVD player don't support the BBC's current productions of the apes because the regions are different. I can't get multi-regional equipment outside export centers like Singapore and Hong Kong unless I want to try my hand at the Grey Market, but Mom says I can't as the Grey Market is no place for a young lady. Converters for non-multi-regional equipment are intended for industrial use in TV stations, running about $2,300.

Basically, screw it, I'm going to bed.

specifically, the brits use PAL and america(and japan) use NTSC. I beleive that, if you ordered the british version, there is higher end software (premeire, maybe?) that could convert it for you. not sure.
