Sasa, Makku and Hairy
Mar. 15th, 2021 02:44 pmYES it's old lady-core to introduce your cats and YES I am going to do it anyway:
First Cat: Sasa
We adopted him off Gumtree from an Egyptian lawyer who was too busy to devote proper time to him, in his own words--a nice man who came to visit Sasa in his new home. His name (given him by his original owner) is Arabic slang for 'Little Thing'. He is a neurotic tsundere. Very loving, but incredibly weird about it. He enjoys a technical seniority in this house, but is emphatically Not the Alpha.

Cat Two: Makkuro Kurosuke (just Makku or Baby Makku)
We couldn't call her 'susuwatari' because Susu is too close to Sasa. Looks exactly like a soot sprite. Adopted her from Croydon Animal Samaritans with Hairy Sullivan because she'd glommed onto him and wouldn't be separated and the shelter was worried about finding someone who'd take both. From a semi-abandoned cat colony. Youngest cat, eternally tiny, easy to pick up with one hand (all fluff). Incredibly affectionate, but gets too excited about affection to stand still for it. In love with grumpy Sasa (who will never love her back), sometimes forces Hairy to groom her.

Cat Three (final cat): Hairy Sullivan
Named for the ginger classic Doctor Who companion. We got Hairy and Makku when our beloved ginger cat Anton (also from Croydon Animal Samaritans) passed away suddenly due to pre-existing heart complications from his period as a stray. Hairy has a very similar vibe. We got him very quickly after losing Anton to help out the over-burdened, excellent shelter (who I've rescued two stray cats with--one of them twice, weirdly enough) and to address the grief, but have of course with time come to love this affectionate, fighty (with other cats--until he accepts them into his Gang), privately-sulky boy with an earth-shatteringly loud, bizarre purr in his own right.
