I found an interesting comment on the rise of Anti-Modism in forums. I'm not a Gaia user myself, though that's the board this comes from, but I still found it poignant, esp. as it's honest to god the real opinion of a user.

Odd. Gaia is the board that my cousin intrepidcat hangs out on a ton. She says that the mod involved is really cool, though, so I'm not sure what to things.

Anti-modism seems to go along with the idea that the internet is (or ought to be) inherently anarchical and free, which it, of course, is not and has never been.
