Vienna: oh you don’t HAVE to speak German ha ha in your own time
Munich, so far: git gut, mein bitch. You want a room key? ONLY IF YOU CAN REMEMBER HOW THE UMLAUT SOUNDS.

Also wow you could be a little more subtle about only pressing brown visitors on their passport information, München Airport, jfc.

Date: 2022-12-09 05:43 pm (UTC)You might’ve been in an area where a lot them lived, that’s possible. Like, in my county there’s one town where we always joke that half the population is Turks – they all moved there, it seems. XD
Hamburg is huge, yes. But IDK, I think I just like the vibe of it. I like to visit the harbour, take a boat tour there. That’s also where the new concert house Elbphilharmonie is located. It was incredibly expensive and took far longer to build than originally planned…
Hamburg has many interesting old buildings and churches, like the Old Town Hall with the surrounding shopping area and its canals near the Binnenalster. I also really love the church “Michel” (St. Michaelis), it’s beautiful on the inside and when I visited once, the choir was practising and the acoustics were amazing.
Also, it’s the German musical city, as there are usually at least four musicals running at different theatres in big productions. Currently, they have “Die Eiskönigin” (Disney’s Frozen), “The Lion King”, “Hamilton”, and “Mamma Mia!”. If I’m in Hamburg, I usually visit a musical production. There are many other shows, especially around the famous red light district “Reeperbahn/St. Pauli”.
I live in NRW, so Hamburg is either a work trip or for leisure. I really love Aachen – it’s a very historical city with a lovely old town and the famous cathedral. Cologne of course is always worth a trip as well, or if you want nature and the towns more quaint, the Eifel region is good too, with Monschau or Bad Münstereifel. Both very picturesque! Münster also is supposed to be a really lovely city (my parents went there once and really enjoyed the sights).
