First off, even if I cannot articulate it on the phone, Seal is like John Coltrane in that people have a lot of sex to the soothing sounds of both of them. Seal is THE MASTER of gay, gay sex. Coltrane- that of hetero lovin'. End of story.

What did I EVER do here? Seriously? How did I manage to live here for eighteen years without just dying of boredom? It has plusses, but I'm having so much trouble adapting to my default state here of apathy and listlessness because there is NOTHING to interest me. Now that Christmas is over and the sweet, traditional activities dispense with, my time is empty and meaningless. I can't live here after college. I know I've AWLAYS said that, but now it's like I'm physically incapable of spending another few weeks here, let alone a lifetime. Chicago, New York, New Orleans, London- I don't care if I have to listen to grating Yankee accents and pay atrocious amounts for a slice of pizza- I have to live somewhere big and bright and NOT FUCKING HERE. I hope to visit Danny and Binny VERY soon, say right after New Years.

I guess it's partly that, in addition to the lack of venues, eateries, etc., there are, compared to college, a limited number of people here I have any interest in talking to/doing anything with. The few I haven't already seen I'm planning to, but other than that I'm just ridiculously alone.

A short list of things to look forward to/things to keep me sane:

Meg's fancy dress New Year’s party
Seeing Finding Neverland w/ Meg and jenny (tentative plans, but w/ 2/3 majority)
Should grab Fatima!Coffee
Should do something w/ Ameena
Rock out w/ Kayta- need to call her
Finish Ish 2 w/ kel
etc. (don't be offended if I seen to have forgotten you, please just remind me- I'm super-muddled lately)
Seeing Priest, perhaps can seduce him to do coffee as well or some such. Mmm, seductive, seductive coffee.

I recently figured out my fav. Coffee house here is the most pretentious place in town. I don't know if the atmosphere's crept in recently or if I'm more attuned to it, having been introduced to the v. collegiate concept of the Ridiculous Kaffehaus, but Lakota of the marvelous chai shakes is just redonkulous. Would stop going... but LOVE chai shakes.

Where have I put down Sophie's World? I know I didn't leave it in Skokie. It must be somewhere, and I really need to finish that!

I finished Series of Unfortunate Events book 3, so now I'm all caught up and can see the movie. I really, really hate seeing movies before I've read the books. I believe your first experience of a work shapes how you perceive it, and seeing a possibly mediocre movie shouldn't be allowed to ruin the series for me. I think Nicole and Zev mentioned really liking the movie, but it does have Jim Carrey, and his overacting could ruin the sinister atmosphere, which is the soul of the series. I'll have to decide for myself whether it works.

Speaking of movies, I really liked Phantom. Anyone seen it yet? And don't be all 'Eugh, Webber! Trogdor pretentious! Trogdor equate Webber with commercialism, so Trogdor no like Webber. Trogdor refuse to back up his disdain for popular art crafted for an audience with an argument more substantial than that Trogdor like indy movies better than mainstream. Auuuuugh!'

Jer is in the house of a Tony-Award winner. The woman who wrote- no, adapted for stage (redone for extra-analness for Jer- just the way he likes it)- Metamorphosis. I am in my basement. In Missouri. He sucks large, ladies and gents.

Have bought Eddie Izzard's Definite Article, and, with a promise Christmas $100 shopping spree, plan to buy, among other things, Glorious, which is my favorite of his stand-up routines. "Covered in beeeeeeeees!"

Does our dorm floor need Battleship? Ponder this with me, if you are so inclined.

Daddy went out on a date tonight, AND with a man his age, rather than someone who was once mean to me on the playground and is currently a bag-boy at Target (Would be funnier if it hadn't happened. Twice.). Yay! YAY!

I volunteered to help my grandma with chores earlier today/yesterday, as it was her 68th birthday. She sang me a special song about how she thinks I have Chlamydia, did a little dance to go with it, and played me her new Tom Lear CDs (oh, Poisoning Pigeons in the Park...). Rock on, grandma. Rock. On.

AND! cutest thing EVAHR, crafted for/about kel and I's LOTR ROTK Extended Drinking Game MADNESS by the ever loveable Regan:
