today I had a latin and a calc quiz. I accidently wandered into the wrong calc TA, but the teacher was way better in that he had two distinct eyebrows, lacked HUGE semicircles of sweat below the armpits, and actually seemed competent and friendly. He says it's fine it I switch to him, I just need to make sure the professor has no beef. He's easy going, I bet he'll be beefless.

I need to write a brief essay explaining why I am too cool for the remedial-ass waste of time that is the intro rhetoric class. I need to pimp my self like no other. Not a thing I'm looking forward to (ha, jeered her detractors). Any thoughts on what to say in particular would be appreciated.

I can't believed I stressed over college and whether I'd make friends. I mean, sure, all the cool people so far are Writer's Community folk, and it's a little wierd to only have friends within this one group of people, but it's only been a week and I'm sure I'll meet Diverse Groups in due time. But really, why bother? I fucking love these guys.

Tuesday night we sat in a hallway and talked for four hours straight about Neil Gaimen movie addaptations, Depp versus Wilder in the context of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, writing and That Closet Case in Theater that every high school in the known universe sports.

Wednesday night we watched Wizard People, Dear Reader. Tonight, we put went to dinner en masse, planned a pizza ordering for tomorrow, pilled 18 people in one dorm room for a Kill Bill marathon and then danced in the rain preceeding a tornado. I also spent an hour in the afternoon chilling in the 'spacious fort' and went to lunch with cool new people. It seems like I've known some of them so long, and it's odd to realize I only met, for example, Therese today. She's so laid back and neat, and she's just one of the many awesome new peeps, all of whom are smart and funny and none of whom are ass-holes.

A girl name Megan, seemingly to her surprise, is The Tart. She is lusted after by all. I am apparantly The Funny One. Perhaps The Supreme-Leader One will come later?

Tara, btw (the aformentioned serious whispy one), does, as predicted, read Sylvia Plath. But she buit the fort out of sheets and invited all commers, offered me goldfish, and is okay. And the chinese girl across the hall no longer hates me, so rock on.

I lj friend-ed Danny Boy from down the hall. I shall friend others soon.

Next entry will probably, as a memory aid of sorts or character sketch, be quick descriptions of my new hall mates. Fun stuff indeed. Like a stiletto (elf only inn).

It's cool that you know people right off the bat, though.

Speaking of furnishings, did you ever manage to find a comforter that Did Not Suck? I went on that same quest and failed, but my mom called today to say she'd bought me something... I fear her taste a lot.
