x_losDISCOVERY: Translation Party, the site than translates your sentences from English to Japanese and back again until it reaches a stalemate/equilibrium, at which point the same answer comes out as went in, CANNOT HANDLE sentences from Mr. Midshipman Hornblower.
...though from "The watch came running to the braces as the Indefatigable was laid as close to the wind as she would lie." I did eventually manage to get it to balance at "She HMS Indefatigable in parentheses, the clock is running to the location of the near future." I'm impressed it immediately parsed 'the Indefatigable' as a British ship, and stuck by that?
...why would Japanese online dictionaries just have the names of Royal Navy ships important in the Napoleonic Wars at the ready? Do people often need to translate that sort of thing into Japanese?
It should also be noted that, to get me to go to this site, Christian had to swear "on my mothers grave, i will commit sepuku right now, with a snapped-in-twain CD from this computer's disk drive" that this was not a Rickroll. Some of you may remember the dark and shameful day Christian committed this atrocity, and my righteous vengeance, which came almost year later, when he least expected it.
Initially, due to a misreading, I thought Christian had suggested impaling himself on a Shannia Twain CD. Indeed a fate worse than death.
