I draw your esteemed intellects, all with a honed penchants for satire, to this article, "Should a
Christian Play D&D?"
"Defenders of D&D often complain that it is only a game. Playing chicken with cars is "only a game" until someone gets killed. So is Russian roulette! I am frequently told to "get a life" or write about something more important than D&D, like social justice or world hunger. The devil would sure like that.
It needs to be emphasized that a spiritual deception which draws people away from Jesus Christ is much more dangerous than automotive chicken or people dying of starvation. People who write such things are - in all Christian charity - deceived. Down through the ages, no institution has done more to help the poor, the orphans and the starving than than has the church of Jesus Christ. I would just ask them where are the rescue missions and orphanages started by D&D gamers?"
He also refers to the 'fiery blackness' of hell. And doesn't find that the least bit funny.

Date: 2004-05-25 02:48 pm (UTC)And here I would refer the fucktard to the Spanish Inquisition. Really helping the poor, the orphans and the starving there, huh? I mean, make more of them, by all means. Then you always have something to do...
Or the Middle Ages, with the persecution of the Jews. And how the Vatican refused to take action prior to WWII, and by their silence made Hitler and Mussolini seem validated.

Yeah, because the devil really cares what you do. What an ass!
Thanks, Tea, I'll definitely be taking a peek at this!
