email sent earlier today to my university's history department

Battle of Bosworth Field and the fall of Richard III."

This quote heads the undergraduate program website. It
made me double-take and check my sources. Am I insane,
along with several writers, or was it August
twenty-SECOND?

Vindicated! And it's already changed! This is the only time in existance that knowing the date of the Battle of Bosworth field has brought anyone who wasn't a Tudor any kind of validation!

You could use the experience for a part of your memior that you write later in life-- the chapter in which you have an affair with the head of the history department, which resolves mostly around your combined love for historical details and chalupas.
