I’d agree that the show’s better at showing that Duo'erla might fancy Tang Fan, but in a way it feels like the show never puts energy into showing that could be not quite reciprocated, so it sits in the televisual domain of slightly unconvincing het—where so much tv het ends up anyway. And they have weird moments like the language teaching flirting scene that don’t quite amount to anything.
