x_losAnachronistic Language in Period Drama. Surprisingly interesting article and graphs about the surprising and subtle ways we fail to write the language of the past. I'm pretty damn tempted to use its algorithms for fanfic/character voices. If only the code weren't being released slowly (he's cleaning it up, fair dues) and apparently VERY complex.
