The wonderful Allegra McEvedy talks about gluttony. Also she doesn't seem to like Nigella, which is sort of random, but there you are. Seems to believe Nigella's gluttony is performative rather than from the stomach/heart.
Baked this pumpkin pie (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/mrs-siggs-fresh-pumpkin-pie/detail.aspx) from an actual full-on pumpkin by halving it, then taking one half and cleaning it, roasting it on a cookie sheet, skinning it, pureeing it, and freezing the excess. Well, two small pies. With the 'flaky crust' (quotes because it may accidentally have become a (poor) short crust, as I fear I added too much water and perhaps blended the butter too small) from the Leon 'Baking and Puddings' book.
Got a TON of application stuff done today, really. Also finished yesterday's editing work, with help from Nadja and Katy, for which I am grateful. Dishes, laundry, cleaning, Shalka stuff, MANY family calls (Molly went in for her procedure today).
