x_losOkay so maybe this is childish, but I'm slightly upset no one in my family has said congrats on finishing my MA. They knew when I was handing my thesis in--I don't want a big deal, just an email? call? fb post? anything? Just some light recognition of the grad degree being done? It's not like they said 'congrats on finishing the thesis' earlier/we've already covered that ground.
I still have to get a grade back on the Diss, as a technical matter (though my advisor approved it, and MA theses aren't defended so much as graded like another essay, so even if I somehow fail, I'll be taking that up with the department), and the graduation ceremony's not till Jan, but all the classes and papers are done-done--all save the last grades and the ceremony. There's no way I could *not* be done now other than act of god/if fucking cultural studies tries to SCREW me and I have to argue with them about it for a month? Even then, probably still graduating. Maybe it's just that it's a difficult call as to When Are You Done, in this sitch.
