That Sicillian fuck! Auuuugh!

My (previously!) favorite teacher decided I really needed to get busy with the following

1) writing the 12 page essay for next week to be workshoped the week after
2) reading, I kid you not, 500+ pages of essays for his personal enjoyment/to pick a fav and give a presentation on next week
3) read the first chapters of The Rock's autobiography for a found art essay that I could get really excited about, but I'm too worried about time/money, in a fusion I will henceforth adress as TMONEY! But here's the deal with the essay. We go through these autobiographies and can only delete, capatalize and punctiate existing text. Can't pluralize or change a verb tense. Everything in the same cronological order. The idea being that at the end of the semester, a 20 page essay (or so) or glory will be born from the madness. Interesting and fun? Kind of. What I need right now? No, D'Agata. No.

Right now I have a fractured portrait of modern masculinity and its tenuous underpinnings in self-loathing and father-idolization emerging from the morass of glory that is The Rock. It's cute.

I have other homework, damnit! I know this is a graduate class but Jesus Lord, this strikes me as somewhat superflous. I wanted to celebrate Wyman Time by watching Star Trek, eating the ice cream Corey so thoughtfully bought for this occasion, and not leaving the appartment, but no.

Also, your Intrepid Reporter must interview Andre Williams today, soul legend.

Andre Williams (born Zeffrey Williams in Bessemer, Alabama, USA in 1936) is an R&B and rock and roll musician. He first started his career with Fortune Records, recording tunes such as "Bacon Fat", "Greasy Chicken", "Jail Bait" and "Pass the Biscuits" as well as writing "Twine Time" for Alvin Cash & The Crawlers and "Shake a Tailfeather" for The Five Dutones. He went on working for Berry Gordy's Motown record company and did production work for artists such as Ike & Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, The Dramatics and The Chi-Lites. He also wrote songs for Funkadelic.

Comming Back from the Crack to play Gabes, no, excuse me, the Picadore (why?), on Friday. I'm so excited! I'm so excited! I'm so. Scared!
