Sergeant Chip
I don't even like military sci-fi? But this made me cry.
Scientists Develop 'no tears' Onion.
Creepy? But so. much. handier. As friends can tell you, I sob like a bitch cutting onions. It's pretty sad how I bawl.
Man, so I was in a car accident last night (totally the other girl's fault), and the impact was quite slow, but it was direct driver-s side, so my car got thoroughly crumpled and I banged my head rather stingingly. I really didn't feel like I needed to go to the hospital, but my neck and shoulders still ache, my head still hurts and I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm having an unusual amount of trouble spelling, all of which concerns me and might merit being looked over by a professional. My eyes are tracking, I lack nausea and no memory loss, and light concussion tends to repair itself, but I'd rather not spend the next week mildly confused and wracked with head pain when I attempt physical activity, if it's all the same.
I'll have Danny drive me to the hospital when he wakes up. There's nothing scarier than the prospect of brain damage, even though I'm most likely absolutely fine the specter of it is enough to get me to go to the UIHC. I'd certainly rather be dead than suddenly a good deal stupider.
Sam and Morgan have never seen Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, so we're watching that.
*UPDATE*
Okay, so I am concussed. Thus my earlier spelling problem. That should be gone by then end of the week. Also I have to wear this Neckerhat-Neckbrace the next two weeks. If one's already been through a car crash, must one be additionally tortured by looking dorky? But for the big Carnival party on Tuesday night, I'm going to paint, feather and sequin the thing to match my mask. Bling my neckbrace, ya'll
Also:
3517 words on Pictures of the Floating World last night. God, I swear, if I don't finish that behemoth this weekend I'll be so annoyed with myself. This is turning out to be long like Chapter Five was long, so I'll probably split it into bits. Not a ton of the two of them has been written, but the is kind of the chapter with 'what the Master was up to during the war,' complete with Unexpected!Rani.
