Okay. Innocently working my way through Three's series with Molly. Got to 'Doctor Who and the Silurians' today--got high to get through the thing (and it was just so temptingly not-purchased-by-me) because the plot arc became frigging unbearable circa Episode Five. The ending payoff of the final ep is very strong, but I feel like the series could have been four episodes long, and markedly better/tighter.
In Episode Seven, there's a HORRIBLE MOMENT when Pertwee runs around in, /basically/ the costume from Streetcar Named Desire, revealing that he's
1) terribly buff for ANY age, and
2) he has a killer twining snake arm tattoo. I mean, you saw it in Spearhead, when he was showering all over the place, but somehow? /This/ is to better effect.
Molly: ...are you...
Erin: REALLY uncomfortable right now? Yes. I mean he was always kind of distinguished looking, a snappy dresser in a sort of velvet n' ruffles way, but... damn.
Molly: He... he's hot. This is like realizing your Uncle is hot.
Erin: I guess we know why his boyfriend likes him? *is not okay with this revelation*
TRAGICALLY there is no good pic of this. I cannot provide Truest Proofs via Photography. And I dunno where screencaps come from, they're mysterious, like babies. BUT while it is nothing to the terrifying full reality, the tiny pic may give you a vague idea:
...why does
marah_sarie know where to find this?

EDIT: Also, Shelob, can you hear me?

Date: 2008-04-29 06:23 am (UTC)And damn you. For making me think about this. I've been meaning to rewatch The Silurians ever since I found out who Captain Hawkins is, and now when I do, I will be thinking of this post, damn it.

Date: 2008-04-29 07:43 am (UTC)OMG WTF PAUL /DARROW/?! I didn't even notice! Augh! Extras all look the same to me! Damn uniforms. This is as bad as the time I was trying to get through Khartoum and there was Delgado being Arabic (?!) and I think I spit out the soda in shock.
There, there. At least it doesn't come up until the /very/ end.

For some reason, this picture is more disconcerting than any of the Three/Delgado!Master pr0n I've ever read. No, I can't explain it.

Date: 2008-04-29 05:13 pm (UTC)Damn, Paul Darrow looks really, really young in that cap -- I think he would have been about 28 or so? Something like that.
(Oh, the caps in my earlier comment are from the Doctor Who Image Archive, btw, and the Tragical History Tour has a bunch of Old Skool screencaps, too.)
