Guys! 2 foot shore breakers! YES!

I can board the rest of today in my Incredibly Uncomfortable Wetsuit, and then get up at 5 am tomorrow morning and do it all again! SWEET! Man, my wetsuit sucks!

I'm such a dork about canoeing, camping, casual spelunking, general boating, tubing, hiking and the like. I really love spending a weekend on the Current River, I just never get to anymore. Frigging college.

Maybe I'll have the opportunity on my days off from the kibbutz to do something more nature-y. I'd also like to indulge my history-archeology geek on those days and check out ruins and suchlike, and my scenester bitch and hang out in Tel Aviv, and the project will probably demand related research excursions to *feel my excitement here* other kibbutzim. x_x. Bah. Better to feel annoyed by the bridge when I actually run across it.

But for now: ocean sports! Joyous life-affirming unequivocal YES!

What part of the Current do you float? We took the kids from Cedar Grove to Akers Ferry on an inflatable raft a couple of summers ago. Lots of mink and blue heron. We were there during the week, so the party noise was not so bad.

I'm afraid I only get in the ocean if it's warm enough to go w/o a wetsuit. That meant I only went in the Pacific maybe twice the entire 6 years we lived in L.A....

Oh, hello there little comment I'd not seen! We put in at Pull Tight or Akres Ferry and we get out at like, Baptist Camp or Owls Bend-- being the eldest of seven means never getting to spend the night on the river and go further like I'd like to b/c little kids can't take it. ): And lord, why is it such a damn party spot now?! It's not Party Cove on the Lake of the Ozarks levels of bad, but does it seem really stupid to anyone else to put totally wasted people in close proximity to drownable-in water, tippy canoes, a decent population of unsafe snakes and spiders and occasional difficult rapids and rocks to crash into? I'm surprised more people don't off themselves with the combo tag team of Budweiser and Rock Overhangs.
