The Horrors of Domestic Labour:

I am sitting in my cleaned kitchen. I did two loads of dishes. I wiped down the surfaces. I cleaned the over top, rearranged the spice shelves, and cleaned the junk table, rearanging the appliances in the process. Two chiffon cakes sit waiting to be iced with homemade icing. A few days ago I cleaned out the fridge, ridding the world of a can of Corey's cottage cheese which expired in December of last year, among other attrocities.

The Dubious Joys of Religion:

Yesterday I droped a class properly, gave a gift to the receptionists for helping me, and sat through the three hour Hillel passover seder. Excellent brisket, nice potato kugel, mediocre giffelte fish. They hillel is really informal, not in a nice, open way, in a kind of sloppy way. I prefer Portman at AguA. He's older, a bit more authoritative, better organized.

Poetz Go Krazy! Arts 'N Stuff:

I've been reading complicated but exquisite poetry and poetics, courtesy of dreams and lit, all day, and playing some chess at the Bowl. Aparently chess is like bycicle riding. I expected to suck hard after months of inactivity, but no, I still know that horsies move in an L shape. I whipped a pretty good kid with a bishop trap, only to flub up and draw in the endgame, because I can never fucking manage a solid endgame. I never studied those as well as I should have, never really practiced them either. I should. I also copied what I liked from the first three shelves of Corey's music library. I'm so fucking tired. I still have to finish reading Berryman's 77 Dream Songs and come up with a solid paper topic for my professor meeting for the heinously sucky Italian History (remember, self, 7:30 on Thursday night at Java House). And I'm STILL way behind in reading for most of my classes! Do other people even read the assigned shit in courses? Is sleep something that happens to other people?
