Hey, if anyone needs a comfortable place to stay until the houses get fixed/cleaned/de-tornado'd, we have a futon, a nice bed we can set up in the basement, and an ample couch. Like, if Therese and Molly or anyone! wanted to stay together right now and no one else has the room, we could provide for some couples. I know I wouldn't want to be alone right now. Also, I know times are freaky now, so we'd feed you and such, just drop me a line if you need anything, our house is undamaged and we've enough stuff to share.

As yet untitled song I'm thinking of submitting for underpo is lj-cut. It's a bit hokey at first, but I think it gets alright. The narrative's weak, but I like the imagery. I guess it's a piece that needs work, thus is appropriate for workshop. Eh. Thinking of title. The tune the meter corresponds to is problematically like Dar William's "We Learned the Sea." gah.

Once a tornado wrecked your little house,
And nothing dared stir there, not even a mouse.
I learned to knit and I caused it to gather
till only the seams showed the passing of weather.

Once I made a fire and it singed off your arms,
you walked with a cane then that jingled with charms.
You said “I am a sailor, but one of the land,
the sea will claim legs but the earth took my hands.”

Once a hurricane shaved off my skin.
It ripped open my body, and it poured you in.
I drowned and I gagged on all your best intentions.
What am I now if not just your invention? (HATE this line, can't rhyme anything better)

Once a flood came and it lifted our baby
into its arms and it carried her gently
away from out house, and I cried and I cried.
You said “Shush, I can just put another inside.”

There was an earthquake that shook you to pieces,
I searched the land and I made you whole.
I said “Now I am Isis, you’re King of the Dead,”
You said “Who put a fool thing like that in your head?”

Once it was calm, and nothing occurred.
We broke the day ourselves, we chiseled with words,
we climbed up the scaffolds 'till we reached the sky.
I was glad I was with you and didn’t know why.
