What sometimes happens is the booting time will be really long, so I'll hit power and wait there and the screen will still be black and I'll be like "WTF" and start hitting the power button over and over again, and well... sometimes it just makes more sense to press it once and leave the room.

True. What's the odd little buttom on what I assume is the battery? The one that makes a series of tiny green lights light up? It's v. cute, but I have no idea what it exists for.

i think it turns the battery on, or resets it, or something like that. I know it works when the battery is by itself (like, outside of the computer), which i think is pretty sweet.
