x_losGyles Brandreth is incredibly confusing. Why is he a conservative and, apparently, straight? I mean that seems about as believable as Disraeli's marriage, speaking of 'why do I like this conservative?'. And not just a little blue around the edges, an MP. And not just an MP, essentially Major's party whip. Wtf? At least in the US all the Republicans are conveniently Not Erudite (or pretending not to be) and easy to identify and dismiss. Fucking England, with its well-educated!moneyed!horrible people.
In other news, when the fuck is the BBC William Turner documentary where I hand Gyles Brandreth a glass of milk, innocent of the terrible knowledge that I am doing a Torry a good turn (I saw him live-taping a Just A Minute commercial for Radio 4 Extra earlier and assumed he wasn't evil! What a fool I was!), coming out? I just want to see my own sweet hand on BBC--let's face it, a Turner documentary with a man who bills himself as an 'after-dinner speaker'? Probably--4.
