Flist! I find that I miss watching Blakes 7 with [Unknown site tag] a la high school leik woah. Where might I download torrents, or is there an episode community like the one that dislikes being named for Who (though hopefully a trifle less security-concerned)? My external hard drive cries out for B7!

In other news, my basement is flooded. I had a plastic bin of dry-clean only clothing on the floor, which is now utterly fucked. Tomorrow morning, Kevin the landlord is getting a call. I'm not super-pissed b/c in general I'm not terribly attached to Stuff I Own (though that clothing is undoubtedly ruined), I'm more " *eyeroll* Yes, I did want to deal with that as well, thanks."

Have done all the dishes and set up the bed on the porch. Am reading Anna Karenina. Tomorrow I will bake cookies, and possibly finish watching The Silurians with Molly. Now that we've finished our Five Fest we're going back through Three, as I adore him and I watched him haphazardly (i.e. skipped around through what I could get and watched all the ones with the Master first, in no real chronological order). Now that we're going in order, can I just say few things are cuter than Spearhead from Space? If I didn't already love Three, his fondness for the car/his shoes/intense!wheelchair!chase scenes would do it for me.

Speaking of, [profile] blinkidybah 's birthday present came today, and, appropriately, destroyed everything good and right in the world forever. Doctor Who: The Unfolding Text remains opaque, physically painful, and delicious to loathe. I produce wanky, dense, self-indulgent critical theory as an oxygen bi-product like most people exhale CO2? I still find the Unfolding Text frigging unbearable! It feels like reading the really ultra-fanboy Outpost Gallifrey reviews of older episodes that used to feel so charmless, depressing and blase to me. Only someone published it. And apparently The Green Death is about transferring subaltern Indian politics into a treatment of the Welsh. Lolz. Yes. Indian Emancipation = Devolution/Centre-Periphery Tension.  I'm glad you're ultra-comfy making that claim, white Aussie media studies writers. You're like the Rosa Parks of Doctor Who critical theory, in your way...

Also a pure class issues reading of that episode is not at all complicated by issues of environmentalism, or anything. God I'm glad Institutionalized Academia is here to patronizingly co-opt read texts/fandom for me. Otherwise I would have been just lost in all these silly ambiguities that might complicate a one-note reading/problematize your authorial choice to take an entirely production-based analytic lens...

THANK YOU [profile] blinkidybah FOR GIVING THE GIFT OF GREAT LULZ!

OMG /this/ is my mischievous mood pic?! I will feel like this a LOT more often!
