If you ever watched that show, just ponder this for a second. And then ponder all those fucking prunes. Why the prunes, Professor Norton Nimnul? Whyyyyyyyyy?
Jenny and I combed Columbia last night for ice cream and were on the point of actually shopping at the only thing left, the 24 hour Wal-Mart (well, there was McDonalds, but death before and all that) before remembering Steak and Shake was 24 hour and feeling reeeeeeally stupid. We hit 6 separate places and every corner of town imaginable before being ready to troop to the Mart. This is what you get for getting in a car at 11:47 in Columbia and expecting anything halfway decent. We had initially convened to watch Spellbound (I rented that and Fahrenheit 9/11 last night, as I had free blockbuster rentals and hadn't seen either, and Jer said Spellbound was really worth a look) but ended up just talking the entire time like the gossipy women we so are. We should just get back in the kitchen barefoot and make sandwiches at this point.
Spellbound makes me think of Word Wars, a similar affectionately mocking documentary on the National Scrabble Championships that I really want to share with my friends, because its love is good love. Hilarious Love. Love from a man with a Malcolm X complex. I don't think it's out on DVD. I can't find it at any rental place I know. I may just suck it up and try to download it or buy it when it comes out.
