Mah Hairz

This website makes me miss the days when many of my good friends of long standing had never seen my natural haircolor (I've been all shades of blonde, brunette, and red-headed, as well as sporting various blues and greens, streaks and chunks of purple, etc.). I have GOT to shear and dye this Ms. Frizzle Schizzle like I'm in the running for the "Best Sheep and Shepherdess" contest.

Because that lamb is looking damn fine.

Suggestions welcome!

"Hair is not a hat you just happened to grow." -- Miss Piggy

IDK, bb, it's hard to say without knowing what it looks like now. FWIW, though, I've always kind of dug girls with hair that was royal blue, Lola red, or anywhere on the chestnut spectrum.

In slightly less extreme news, since I gather we're talking about srs curliness, here, I'd like to point out that Miranda July always manages to look pretty damn awesome despite natural crazy frizzyness? Just a thought.

PIGGY IS MY PROPHET.

Eugh, if only I didn't /detest all photos/, then I could show the woooorld. I think it's former child model!backlash. I've told The Person I Have Designs On that at our eventual nuptials she will be posing with a cardboard cutout of me, made from one photo, because I look fine to myself in mirrors, but the instant a camera appears, BAM! Nixon Chin. And I absolutely refuse to sit there creating photographic evidence of /that/ all day long.

Chestnut and Royal Blue = <3. I've only ever been a more tealy blue than that before? I keep hearing that nature's first green is gold/it's hardest hue to hold--no, no that's BLUE, shit washes right out.

Oh now she's lovely!

Alas, part of growing old and being a legal professional is the lack of eccentric hair options. Stick with your natural hair color, because dying it usually looks unprofessional or upkeep is expensive. :( Unless unprofessional isn't a concern right now? In which case, blue.

Definitely get a sassy cut though. We should look at old pictures of you to figure out what was sexy. Project!

Alas, part of growing old and being a legal professional is the lack of eccentric hair options.

I'd definitely agree with you on the first part, but I was seeing some pretty wild purple-magenta hair in court before I retired (also high heels with no nylons, which always makes me go "yeesh" for some reason). Saw some flaming, flaming not-seen-in-nature orange on a judge once.

Um, crazy!legal hair sounds wicked cool, but I am generally pro-hose... and pro-hos, but diff. story.

PROJECT!! I kind of want it long, but I could be wrong? SASSY could be good? IDK. And... you may be right re: upkeep, but in London I'm going to have to maintain it anyway b/c Katy is the sort of person who gets 65 pound haircuts, and will possibly expect me to look like I am not the sort of person who gets... haircuts from my sister. Though I should wait until I AM employed to do the funky colors!! thing.

My god, so it is! Did not know.

Baby, it could be glorious. I would run it by you first? Eh? Aren't you bored of my brown?

I feel like me icon. Woe.

It's winter so unless you want to do something obviously unnatural like blue/green/etc I'd go with darker colors - dyed blond looks dumb in the season of 8 hours of sunlight.

Right. Idk, I miss my auburn, so possibly that, but strawberry blond may well be out due to Season.

The nice thing about funky colors is that they strip out easily, and can also be dyed over with little trouble. I say go for it!

[identity profile] x-los.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, well do I remember the stripping out. Fuck you, Fish Bowl, you were commitment-phobic re: my follicles. Actually I LOVE your hair color in photos!

[identity profile] black-rider.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I dye it a fairly normal red, and then put a funky red over top of it every so often. It takes a little more upkeep, but not having to strip my hair every couple of weeks is kinda nice.

[identity profile] x-los.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's clever, I might have to think about that one...

[identity profile] evilawyer.livejournal.com 2009-11-11 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Is platinum blond a possibility? I mean radioactive platinum. Otherwise, since it sounds like you're thinking of getting a really short cut, maybe a spiky brown-and-blond ensemble?

[identity profile] x-los.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
I think REALLY SHORT will make my face look chunky--my head is more Circular than Elfin, sadly.

RADIOACTIVE platinum, I have never tried! Though I did really want long, pure /white/ hair for a while...

[identity profile] black-rider.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
I second this. I think awesome spiky brown with blond tips would be excellent.
