Musicology

At exactly 3 minutes and fourty seconds in, In The Air Tonight becomes one of the best songs ever recorded. The long build is necessary for that amazing payoff.

I will survive The Crane Wife because I invested in the pre-nup of low expectations. It does have its hilights.

Paul Simon did 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, and it is singable as hell.

Queen's "Killer Queen" is a somewhat shallow, but decadent choice of personal theme song.

Dolly Parton's rendition Silver Dager is an Appalacian glory, an exquisite rendering one of the true great American traditional songs.

Brahms is romantic.

Beach Chair is a brave, revelatory, semi-transcendent track fo Jay z to release.
