I remember now why I always do third person. First person, unless the person is Mary-Sueishly awesome, is REALLY frustrating. What you can do with the narrative is so limited. It's hard to be consistant. Your character fluccuates. First person sucks.
All my short story ideas are too much atmosphere and character and too little plot. I haven't done anything satisfactory in terms of short fiction, despite recent attempts to dredge up something for Sarah's zine. It's like I have everything but what happens. What the hell HAPPENS? I need to read good short scifi/fantasy/steampunk to get inspired. I'm just floundeing here. I think I could wirte the story like a charm if only I had a snippet of plot. Ideas? Suggestions? Anybody?
